WKSL®
Computer aided system for pulse localization of damages of overhead high-voltage transmission lines WKSL®.
Application
Computer aided system for pulse location of damages of overhead high-voltage transmission lines called WKSL® is a unique solution offered on the market, designed for fast, safe and very precise location of transmission line failures, i.e. phase-to-phase faults, earth faults, constant or momentary, as well as breaks in live conductors or disconnected wires. The WKSL® system is designed to locate failures in transmission lines with working voltage 110 kV, 220 kV, 400 kV and higher, provided with capacitor voltage transformers or bypassing capacitors. The use of WKSL® location system in a given power supply object increases the safety of line maintenance and exploitation and helps to improve the reliability of power supply and to shorten possible power cuts.
Structure
The WKSL® location system is composed of:
• pulse fault finder of a type LAS-4,
• pulse fault finder of a type LAS-2N (option),
• line switch of a type PLN-1K (option),
• interconnecting and protecting unit of a type LUZ-1.1,
• PC computer with software LAS® to operate the system WKSL®.
Operation
The principle of operation of fault finders LAS-4 and LAS-2N is based on a method of pulse-reflectometry measurement of a distance from failure site and computer aided collection, processing and analysis of data delivered by the fault finder system.
